Hearing Australia is an Australian statutory authority, constituted under the Australian Hearing Services Act 1991. It is the largest provider of government funded hearing services in the country, and one of its main areas of work is hearing testing and rehabilitation for children and young people under the age of 26. Its research division, the National Acoustic Laboratories, studies hearing assessment, prevention of hearing loss, rehabilitation devices and rehabilitation procedures.
