FamilyMart is a Japanese chain of convenience stores and a subsidiary of the trading house Itochu. Its shops sell ready made meals, drinks, snacks and everyday goods around the clock, and also handle services such as bill payment and parcel collection. It is the second largest convenience store chain in Japan, behind Seven-Eleven, with more than 24,000 franchised stores in Japan, Taiwan, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. It absorbed the Circle K and Sunkus chains, whose stores were converted to the FamilyMart name.
