Etihad Airways is one of the two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates, alongside Emirates. It was founded in July 2003 and began flying in November of that year. Its head office is in Khalifa City in Abu Dhabi, close to Zayed International Airport, which is also its main base. Etihad operates more than a thousand flights a week to over 120 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, with a fleet of 107 Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
