Giant Eagle is an American supermarket chain founded on 31 August 1931 and based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Its stores are spread over Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana and sell groceries, produce, meat, seafood, bakery and deli goods, with pharmacies, fuel and prepared food as well. The company also runs the larger Market District supermarkets and the GetGo convenience stores with filling stations. It is family controlled and one of the largest private companies in the country.
