sigikid is a German maker of soft toys, children's toys, baby and children's fashion and accessories. Its parent company H. Scharrer & Koch GmbH was founded in 1856 in Bayreuth and first produced glass beads. A change of generation in 1968 turned the firm to children's toys and brought the name sigikid, a joining of the founder's nickname Sigi with the word kid. In the mid 1990s it dominated the market for vinyl and porcelain artist dolls, and it is now known for organic toys, a designer plush line and classic toys.
