Benevento Calcio is an Italian football club from Benevento in Campania, first founded in 1929 and refounded in 2005. It plays at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito, a ground of 16,867 places, and competes in Serie C, with promotion to Serie B secured for the following season. The club climbed from the third division to Serie A in successive seasons and made its top-flight debut in 2017, the first club from the province to do so. It plays in yellow and red and is nicknamed Gli Stregoni, the Sorcerers, after the witches of local legend.
