Bohus is a Norwegian furniture retail chain, founded in 1976 under the name Samarbeidende Møbelhandlere, Norwegian for cooperating furniture retailers. The present name is a pun on the words bo and hus, to live and house, inspired by the German Bauhaus school. It is also the name of a fortress that stood on Norwegian land until the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658. The chain has 60 stores and its head office is at Økern in Oslo.
