The Colorado Rapids are an American soccer club from the Denver area, founded on 6 June 1995 as one of the ten charter clubs of Major League Soccer. They play at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, a ground of about 18,000 places, and compete in the Western Conference. The Rapids won MLS Cup in 2010 and the US Open Cup in 1999. They play in burgundy and blue. Their ground sits at more than 1,500 metres, which visiting sides have long complained about.
