HEMA is a Dutch retail chain, founded in Amsterdam on 4 November 1926 as the Hollandsche Eenheidsprijzen Maatschappij Amsterdam, a name that refers to selling goods at standard fixed prices. Its stores sell mostly own brand goods across furnishings, fashion and food, and they also offer services such as photo printing. Besides the Netherlands, HEMA trades in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Mexico, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The company is owned by the Van Eerd family.
