It opened its first store in Woodside, Queens, in New York City under the name Han Ah Reum, a Korean phrase meaning an armful of groceries. The chain has since spread across the United States and into Canada and the United Kingdom, and its revenue reached 1.05 billion dollars in 2013. Its stores combine fresh produce, meat and seafood counters with prepared food.
