Smashburger is an American fast casual hamburger chain founded in 2007 in Denver, Colorado. Its name comes from the way the patties are pressed flat onto a hot griddle to sear the surface. The menu covers hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, fries, shakes and soft drinks. It has 227 restaurants, 220 of them in the United States and seven in Canada, and also trades in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. The Philippine group Jollibee Foods holds the majority of the company.
