Boots is a British pharmacy chain, founded in Nottingham in 1849 by John Boot and built into a national chain by his son Jesse Boot. It is based in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, and its shops sell medicines, health products, cosmetics and toiletries, including own brands such as No7. The chain has around 2,000 shops in the United Kingdom and a further 1,912 abroad, counted in 2025. It is owned by Sycamore Partners together with Stefano Pessina and his family.
