SV Werder Bremen is a German football club from Bremen, founded on 4 February 1899. It plays at the Weserstadion, a ground of 42,100 places on the bank of the river, and competes in the Bundesliga. Werder have won four German championships, six DFB-Pokals and the Cup Winners' Cup in 1992. It plays in green and white and is nicknamed Die Werderaner. Otto Rehhagel managed the club for fourteen years, an era that shaped its identity.
