FC Botoșani is a Romanian football club from Botoșani in the north east of the country, founded in 2001 after years of instability among the city's earlier clubs. It plays at the Stadionul Municipal, a ground of 7,782 places, and competes in Liga I, the Romanian top division, which it reached in 2013 and where it has stayed since. The club has finished in the top half several times and qualified for the Europa League play-offs. It plays in red and blue. For a county capital of its size it is a rare example of a club built without a predecessor's honours.
