XPeng, formally Guangzhou Xiaopeng Motors Technology, is a Chinese maker of battery electric cars. It was founded on 15 August 2014 and is run from Guangzhou in Guangdong, with further offices in Mountain View in California and in Munich. The company develops much of its technology in house, including advanced driver assistance systems, an in car operating system and its powertrains. Its shares trade in New York and Hong Kong, and the Volkswagen Group is a strategic shareholder alongside founder He Xiaopeng.
