Signal Iduna is a German insurance and financial services group with roots in Dortmund and Hamburg going back to 1907. It was formed on 1 July 1999 by the merger of the Dortmund based Signal Versicherungen and the Hamburg based Iduna Nova group. It offers health, life, property and accident cover as well as pensions and investment products. Deutscher Ring health insurance joined the group in 2009 and merged into Signal Iduna Krankenversicherung in 2017.
