Air India is the flag carrier of India, founded in 1932 by J.R.D. Tata and headquartered in Gurugram. Its main hub is Delhi, with further hubs in Mumbai and Bengaluru, and it flies across Asia, Europe, North America and Australia. After decades in state hands it returned to the Tata group in 2022, which began a large fleet renewal and merged several Indian carriers into it.
