LA Fitness is an American chain of health clubs run by Fitness International LLC, based in Irvine, California, and founded in 1984. It operates hundreds of clubs across the United States and Canada, many of them large sites with pools, courts and group fitness studios, and also runs the City Sports Club and Club Studio names. It grew substantially by buying up rival chains, among them Bally Total Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness locations.
