Le Bon Marché is a department store in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. Founded in 1838 and rebuilt almost completely by Aristide Boucicaut from 1852, it is regarded as one of the first modern department stores. Its name means the good market, or the good deal, in French. The store belongs to LVMH and sells high end fashion, beauty products and homeware, with food sold next door at 38 rue de Sèvres in La Grande Épicerie de Paris. It was a member of the International Association of Department Stores from 1986 to 2011.
