LOT Polish Airlines, formally Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT S.A., is the flag carrier of Poland. It was founded on 29 December 1928, which makes it one of the oldest airlines still flying. Its base and main hub is Warsaw Chopin Airport, from which it operates a European and long haul network, and it has been a member of the Star Alliance since 2003. The airline is majority owned by the Polish state, with the Polish Aviation Group holding the remaining shares.
