Macy's is an American department store chain, founded in New York City in 1858 by Rowland Hussey Macy. Its head office and flagship store is Macy's Herald Square on West 34th Street in Manhattan, one of the largest department stores in the world. The chain runs around 450 locations, made up of full line stores, smaller format shops and standalone Macy's Backstage outlets. It is also known for sponsoring the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
