OMV is an Austrian oil, gas and chemicals group, founded on 3 July 1956 and headquartered in Vienna. Its name comes from Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung Aktiengesellschaft, the full name it carried until 1995. The company works in three areas: chemicals, fuels and feedstock, and energy, and its products include petroleum, natural gas, motor fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and plastics. It runs filling stations in Austria and in central and south eastern Europe, and its shares trade on the Vienna Stock Exchange.
