AS Saint-Étienne is a French football club from Saint-Étienne in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, founded on 25 July 1933 out of a grocery company's sports society. It plays at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, a ground of about 42,000 places known as le Chaudron, the cauldron, and competes in the French league. Saint-Étienne have won the French championship a record ten times and reached the European Cup final in 1976. It plays in green and is nicknamed Les Verts.
