Asda is a British supermarket chain founded in 1949 in Leeds, where it still has its head office. It grew out of the Associated Dairies company, which its name comes from, and it runs superstores, supermarkets and petrol stations across the United Kingdom. It was owned by Walmart for two decades and returned to British ownership in 2021.
