CineStar is a cinema chain that was founded in 1948 and is the largest cinema operator in both Germany and Croatia. It also runs cinemas in the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Serbia and Kosovo. The name is used for multiplex venues showing mainstream film releases, usually with several screens under one roof. Its German business was bought by the Belgian cinema group Kinepolis in 2019.
