It was founded in 1836 by David Sprüngli and has been a company separate from Lindt & Sprüngli since 1892. It is best known for the Luxemburgerli, a small macaron style sweet, and it runs 35 shops and cafés in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the United Arab Emirates, among them the café on Paradeplatz in Zürich. The business has more than a thousand employees.
