Coop is a system of Italian consumers' co-operatives that together run one of the largest supermarket chains in Italy. Its headquarters are in Casalecchio di Reno, in the province of Bologna. As of 2010 the system consisted of 115 co-operatives of different sizes, nine large, 14 medium and 92 small, with 1,444 shops, more than 56,000 employees, over 7.4 million members and an annual revenue of 12.9 billion euros. Each co-operative is owned by the members who shop in its stores.
