Curves is an international fitness franchise for women, founded in 1992 by Gary and Diane Heavin in Texas. Its clubs are built around a circuit of hydraulic machines arranged in a ring, designed for a thirty-minute workout, and are usually much smaller than a conventional gym. At its height Curves was one of the fastest-growing franchises in the world, with thousands of locations, and it still operates in dozens of countries.
