Espresso House is the largest coffeehouse chain in the Nordic countries. It was founded in Lund in Sweden in 1996 by Elisabet and Charles Asker. Its cafés sell coffee together with pastries, sandwiches and other light food. By April 2023 the chain had passed 510 locations, spread over Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Germany. Since 2015 it has been owned by the investment group JAB Holding, which holds a number of other coffee businesses as well.
