Foodtown is a supermarket co-operative in the northeast of the United States, founded in 1955 by Twin County Grocers in New Jersey. There are 66 Foodtown stores in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut, and the corporate offices are in Iselin, New Jersey. As with other retailer co-operatives such as ShopRite, each store is independently owned and run, and some owners hold several. The parent company, Allegiance Retail Services, supplies Foodtown branded goods and serves independent grocers under other banners too.
