Fressnapf Tiernahrungs GmbH is a German pet supplies retailer that opened its first store in Erkelenz in 1990 and is based in Krefeld. It works largely as a franchise business and has grown to more than 1,400 stores and some 20,000 staff in twelve European countries, which makes it the largest pet product retailer in Europe. Its shops sell pet food, accessories and care products. Outside Germany many of the stores trade under the Maxi Zoo name. The founder is Torsten Toeller.
