Giant Food, formally Giant Food of Maryland, LLC, is an American regional supermarket chain founded on 15 December 1936 as Giant Food Shopping Center Inc. It runs 166 stores in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia, with its head office near Landover in Prince George's County, Maryland. The company is a subsidiary of Ahold Delhaize. In business it is often called Giant-Landover, to keep it apart from The Giant Company, a Pennsylvania sister chain under the same owner.
