Górnik Zabrze is a Polish football club from Zabrze in Upper Silesia, founded on 14 December 1948 as the club of the local coal miners. It plays at the Arena Zabrze, a ground of 28,236 places, and competes in the Ekstraklasa. Górnik won fourteen Polish championships and reached the Cup Winners' Cup final in 1970, the best European run by a Polish club side. It plays in blue and white and is nicknamed Górnicy, the Miners.
