Hallmark Cards, Inc. is a privately held, family owned American company based in Kansas City, Missouri. It was founded in 1910 by Joyce Hall and is one of the oldest and largest makers of greeting cards in the United States, alongside party goods, gift wrap and stationery. The Hall family still owns the business, which was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 1985. Hallmark also works in television, producing the Hallmark Hall of Fame since 1951 and launching the Hallmark Channel fifty years later.
