ITA Airways, formally Italia Trasporto Aereo S.p.A., is the flag carrier of Italy. It was founded in 2020 as the successor to the bankrupt Alitalia. The airline serves more than 70 domestic, European and intercontinental destinations from its main hub at Rome Fiumicino, with Milan Linate as a focus city. It is owned by the Italian state through the Ministry of Economy and Finance together with the Lufthansa Group, and joined Star Alliance in April 2026.
