Korean Air is the flag carrier and largest airline of South Korea, with its head office in the Gangseo district of Seoul. It grew out of the state owned Korean Air Lines, which the Hanjin group took over in 1969. Its main base is Incheon International Airport, from where it flies to destinations in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. The airline was one of the founding members of the SkyTeam alliance in 2000. Walter Cho is chairman and chief executive.
