Montpellier HSC is a French football club from Montpellier in Occitanie, formed in 1974 out of a merger, with roots going back to 1919. It plays at the Stade de la Mosson, a ground of 33,556 places, and competes in the French league. Montpellier won Ligue 1 in 2012, one of the most unexpected titles in modern French football, and the Coupe de France in 1990. It plays in orange and blue and is nicknamed La Paillade, after the district around its ground.
