Morrisons, formally Wm Morrison Supermarkets, is a British supermarket chain with its head office at Hilmore House in Bradford, West Yorkshire. It grew out of an egg and butter stall opened in Bradford in 1899 by William Morrison. The chain spread across the country after buying the rival Safeway in 2004 and is one of the largest grocers in the United Kingdom. Unusually for a supermarket it prepares much of its own fresh food in its own factories. It has been owned by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice since 2021.
