Narvesen is a Norwegian chain of newsagents and convenience stores with around 370 outlets nationwide, which makes it one of the largest retailers in Norway. It goes back to 1894, when the merchant Bertrand Narvesen was allowed by the Norwegian State Railways to take over the sale of newspapers, magazines and travel literature at its stations. The company became a nationwide joint stock company in 1928 and has been part of the Reitan group since 2000. Narvesen also runs stores in Latvia and Lithuania.
