RCD Espanyol is a Spanish football club from Barcelona, founded on 28 October 1900 by university students. It plays at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà, a ground of about 40,000 places, and competes in La Liga. The club has won the Copa del Rey four times and reached the UEFA Cup final in 1988 and 2007, losing both on penalties. It plays in blue and white stripes and is nicknamed Los Periquitos, the Parakeets. Its derby with Barcelona is the Barcelona derby.
