Tele2 is a Swedish telecommunications operator with its headquarters in Stockholm. It was founded in 1993 by Jan Stenbeck and grew as a challenger to the former state monopoly. The company provides mobile and fixed telephony, broadband, data network services, television, streaming and internet of things services, in Sweden and the Baltic states. The French group iliad, through Freya Investissement, holds 19.8 percent of the capital and 25 percent of the voting rights.
