Thai Airways International is the flag carrier of Thailand, founded in 1960 as a joint venture between Scandinavian Airlines and the domestic Thai Airways Company. Its corporate headquarters are on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in the Chatuchak district of Bangkok and it operates primarily from Suvarnabhumi Airport. THAI is a founding member of Star Alliance. It is the second largest shareholder in the low cost carrier Nok Air, and its regional arm Thai Smile has been merged back into the parent airline.
