Vietnam Airlines is the flag carrier of Vietnam. It was founded in 1956 as Vietnam Civil Aviation and was established as a state owned enterprise in April 1989. The airline is run from the Long Bien district of Hanoi and uses Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City as its hubs. It flies 117 routes to 19 countries, not counting services sold under codeshare agreements.
