Zilveren Kruis, a name that means silver cross, is a Dutch health insurer based in Leiden. It was founded in 1949 and is now part of Achmea, the group created in 1995 when it merged with the Avéro Centraal Beheer group. It sells the compulsory Dutch basic health insurance along with supplementary and dental policies, and it is one of the largest health insurers in the country by number of policyholders.
