B&Q is a British chain of DIY, home improvement and garden centres, founded on 5 March 1969 by Richard Block and David Quayle, whose surnames gave the company its name. It is based in Eastleigh, England, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kingfisher plc. B&Q is the largest home improvement retailer in the United Kingdom and serves both the general public and tradespeople, unlike its rival Wickes, which caters mainly to the trade.
