KaDeWe, short for Kaufhaus des Westens, is a department store on the Tauentzienstraße in Berlin. It opened in 1907 and is the largest department store in continental Europe, with a food hall on its upper floors that is one of its best known parts. The shop is run by KaDeWe Group, which operates three department stores in Germany and employs around 4,000 people. The group is owned by the Thai Central Group.
