Charlton Athletic Football Club is an English club from Charlton in south-east London, founded on 9 June 1905. It plays at The Valley, a ground of 27,111 places, and competes in the English league. The club won the FA Cup in 1947 and reached the final the year before. It plays in red and white and is nicknamed the Addicks. After being forced out of The Valley in 1985 its supporters ran a campaign, including their own candidates in local elections, that brought the club home in 1992.
