Kaffebrenneriet is a Norwegian chain of coffee shops, established in 1994 and modelled on the coffeehouses of the American west coast. The retail group NorgesGruppen bought a third of the shares in 1999, and the following year the company set up its own bakery lab. It has 44 outlets: 36 in Oslo, six in Viken and two in Trøndelag. More than 200 people work for the chain, in full time and part time jobs, and its shops serve coffee alongside bread and pastries from its own bakery.
