Kronen Zeitung, usually called the Krone, is Austria's largest newspaper. It first appeared on 2 January 1900 in Vienna and was relaunched in 1959 by Hans Dichand and Kurt Falk, who built it into the mass circulation tabloid it is today. The paper comes out daily in regional editions across the country. Its line is populist and conservative, and the paper is known for its Eurosceptic stance and its influence on public debate in Austria.
