Lego A/S, also known as the Lego Group, is a Danish toy manufacturer and media company based in Billund. It was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen and takes its name from the Danish phrase leg godt, meaning play well. The company is best known for its interlocking plastic bricks, and it also runs the Legoland amusement parks and a network of its own retail stores. In 2015 it became the world's largest toy company by revenue, and it remains owned by the Kristiansen family through their investment firm Kirkbi.
